Buddies

Kindergarten and Year 6 love Wednesday afternoons because they love to meet their buddy. This week KTB visited Year 6 in their classroom and they learnt how to make comments on our blog. KJS did an activity with their buddy about the special people in their life.

Travelling Ted and Max's Birthday Party

In Religion we are learning about celebrations. To give the children first hand experience we decided to have a celebration of our own. The students planned and prepared the party for Travelling Ted and Max.
Here is a recount written by Kindergarten.

Travelling Ted and Max’s Birthday
Today it was Travelling Ted’s and Max’s Birthday. They were turning 5 years old. We brought our food, drink and party hats to school. We also chose a special toy from home to share the party with. Mrs Petrini brought “Tigger”, Mrs Berg brought ‘Burt’ and Mrs Penton brought “Ted”. The food was put onto plates. It looked really yummy. Evan did floppy arms with Ted and Brodie S did floppy arms with Max while we sang Happy Birthday to them. William made a special birthday cake with candles. We had a special visit from Mrs Jackson. She brought her toy called Pilchard with her. Pilchard had his name on him. We opened Ted’s and Max’s presents. They got special books. Mrs Jackson read us a story called “Herbet and Harry”.Mr Cowley and Mrs Prendeville also came for a visit. We had cake, poppers and funny balloons that looked like rabbits, caterpillars and birds. Then we had to clean up our classroom.We had fun at the birthday party.The end

Kindergarten's Little Monsters

Kindergarten have been reading a Big Book called The Monster's Party. In the book the monsters show what they can do. Some monsters can sing, some can dance, some can play. One monster could not think of anything it could do .At the end of the book he decided he could jump in the jelly like a kangaroo.

Kinergartens Treasure Box

Mrs Serrao's dogs dug up a box in her backyard. In the box she found some dress up jewellery that her children used to play with. Kindergarten were asked to use their imagination and write about what they would like to find if they dug up a treasure.

The Creation Story

In Kindergarten we have been learning about God's wonderful Creation. We have studied the creation passages from the Bible. Students have been invoved in exploring the story through Exploring Scripture Stories, making their own puppet play and using technology to explore the story. We also created our own illustrations.

Kindergarten's Treasures

In PDHPE we have been learning about the value of friendship. The students were asked to bring in something that they really treasure. We discussed why our treasures were so important to us.

Many students said that someone special had given their treasure to them.

Some students bought in their favourite teddy bear, while others bought in something special that someone had given to them. Have a look at some of our treasures.

An update on our Maths Investigation

During our Maths Investigation we investigated 2D and 3D shapes. We investigated what the difference was between 2D and 3D shapes.

We found that ;

Some 2D shapes are circles, rectangles,triangles and squares

Some 3D shapes are spheres, cylinders, retangular prisms and cubes

3D shapes have faces

3D shapes are made out of 2D shapes.

We made 3D shapes and we made pictures out of 2D shapes
